Puppy Purchase Details

After reading our breed information, understanding what sets us apart, and learning about our parent dogs, we would love to provide you with, and help you bring home your new Cockapoo friend! We want to use this page to help walk you through the steps of how you can go about that. Here, we will talk about 1. Reserving Your Puppy, 2. Preparing for Your Puppy, 3. What's Included With Your Puppy, and 4. Final Purchase and Pick-Up.

Litters are currently priced at $2500, broken up into a deposit, a payment at puppy selection, and balance paid at pick-up. All of this is detailed below.

***Prices are subject to change at any time based upon season and demand. However, once you have reserved your puppy, you can be confident that your price is locked in!***

Step 1: Reserving Your Puppy

There are a couple of different scenarios in which you can reserve your puppy....

You want to make a deposit on a puppy before birth

If you are interested in a pup from us, you can make a deposit at anytime. We have many who contact us about making deposits long before litters are even expected, as they know that the difference of waiting a few months is worth it in the long run for the quality of puppy that they can only find with us. If you fit in this category, we welcome you to make a deposit-----but remind you that, although we can make estimates based on averages, we cannot guarantee actual dates for litters until an actual breeding has taken place. Dogs, like humans, are individuals. We do not give hormone shots or use artificial means to bring our girls into heat, and therefore, cannot tell you for sure (although we can often make a very good guess!) when your pup will be on the way until we actually have a breeding. If you have a strong preference for either a male or a female, deposit is the time to make that known. Note that choosing male or female will bind you to choose among only those puppies in the litter. If you do not have a preference on gender, you will have selection of all of the puppies available in the litter when your turn comes.
When you visit our current and upcoming litters page, you can find our planned litters (with timing estimates), and bred litters (with their due dates and take home times) listed along with the current price of our puppies. You will find a "Pay Now" button, and all you have to do is click, and follow the instructions. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account----you can also securely use your debit or credit card information. Deposits are $500, are non-refundable, and go towards the total price of your puppy. When you send your deposit, PLEASE follow up by sending us an email through millcreekfamilyfarms@gmail.com (also available on our contact us page) that includes your name and contact information. We would like to be given your first and last name, the best email address to reach you at, at least one phone number (preferably two), and the best time to reach you. We will be in touch with you shortly!
Obviously, when you are making a deposit on unborn puppies, we do not know for sure how many puppies, how many males or females, or exactly what colors will be born. We sell our puppies primarily based on their superior genetics and the extremely high quality we have selected----from both the AKC Champion Poodle lines, and AKC Champion Cocker lines we have so carefully sought in every Cocker and Poodle we breed. Since this is our unique primary focus, we do not make guarantees based on color selection. We have selected some BEAUTIFULLY colored girls, and should have lots of variety to offer, however, the puppies in the litter when your turn comes are what you will have to select from, in the order of deposits received. If there are not enough puppies in the litter for deposits placed, you will be transferred----in order of deposit----to the next litter.
When you deposit on one of our puppies before birth, also note that you are not depositing on a certain breeding----you are depositing on our program. Knowing for certain the order in which our females will come into heat, have a successful breeding, and deliver and raise healthy pups is not something that we will know ahead of time. Therefore, our pre-birth deposit list is simply a list that we will work from, in order, when our next litter of exceptional quality pups are born. Rest assured, all of our dogs meet the same strict criteria, and whoever your pup's parents are, you can absolutely count on the fact that both parents meet the standards that set us apart from every other Cockapoo breeder known to us.
As soon as we have a breeding, all on our deposit list will be contacted with a due date and take home time. When puppies are born, we will update everyone and send pictures with information on the litter. This is when you will have an idea of whether or not there are enough pups in the current litter for you, or if you will move up in the selection order and be waiting for next time. We will then update all those who will receive a pup with pictures of each individual puppy of their gender choice weekly. Specific selection of puppies begins at 3 weeks old, in order of deposits received. This helps us make sure all puppies are going and growing strong before selection, and allows you to see pictures of and get a feel for each puppy. We also choose 3 weeks so that they are moving around and you can see pictures with their eyes open.
In order to lock in your puppy selection, we require a payment of $700 within 24 hours of selecting. This will combine with your $500 deposit toward the total price of your puppy. This helps us to be confident in your commitment to be a family for your new puppy. Our first commitment is to our puppies, and we must make sure that they have a home to go to!
From the 4 week mark on, your weekly pictures will be focused on your new little one!

You want to make a deposit on a newborn litter---under 3 weeks old

*Note that this option is only available if we have provided all of the families on our deposit list with a puppy. The standing deposit list has precedence over any new deposits* As puppies from a litter are not selected until 3 weeks of age, the process here is almost exactly like the process lined out for an unborn litter. When you visit our current and upcoming litters page, you can find our available newborns listed along with the price of the puppies in that litter. Each litter with available puppies will have a "Pay Now" button, and all you have to do is click, and follow the instructions. You have found a specific puppy on our page or that we have advertised, and have decided that they are the one for you!

In this scenario, you can head over to our current and upcoming litters page, and press the "Pay Now" button next to the puppy of your choice. Your payment will be through PayPal, but you may use your PayPal account or securely enter your credit or debit card information. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account in order to use the "Pay Now" button to make a payment on a puppy! In this scenario, your payment will be $1200 and is non-refundable. We generally do a $500 deposit, and a $700 payment when a specific puppy is selected-----but as you are depositing AND selecting at the same time, we do require both. This helps us to be confident in your commitment to be a family for your new puppy. Our first commitment is to our puppies, and we must make sure that they have a home to go to! step 2: preparing for your puppy

In the weeks that you are waiting for your baby to be ready to come home, there is a lot you can do to prepare!

FOOD: Having your food picked out and ready for your puppy is advised. We start them on Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy while they are here, and strongly advise you purchasing at least one bag of this so that you aren't switching feed on them abruptly with all the other changes being made. If you are driving to pick up your puppy, we can have a 40 lb bag available for you for $43. If your puppy will be flying, a 40 lb bag of food is obviously not an option! They will travel with a small baggie of food, but we ask that you purchase a bag of Diamond Naturals Small Breed Puppy to have ready when they arrive home. If you choose to switch their food going forward, our recommendation is a PUPPY food that 1) has meat as the first ingredient, and 2) does not contain corn, wheat, or soy. Your puppy should remain on puppy food fed according to the package instructions for their age/weight until they are done growing. And remember that with all of this, your puppy will need food and water bowls! We find stainless to be the best as they are non-porous, can be washed out easily, and can't be chewed up. :) You will also want to add to your list some training treats. Look for ones without sugar! We often recommend using your pup's NuVet vitamin wafers (read below for more info on that) or just purchasing a small bag of a DIFFERENT high quality food (it won't be a treat if it's what they eat all the time!) and using pieces of it in training or for treats.

GROOMING: Although your puppy will not need heavy grooming right away, this does need to be on your mind! Wavy and curly coated dogs need to be brushed regularly to ensure that their coat doesn't get matted. It is much easier to work on the tangles regularly than it is to attempt to clip mats out! Their are a wide variety of brushes available at a reasonable price from your local pet supply store, or from online retailers. We don't recommend starting with anything very expensive, as it often takes several tries to find exactly what is comfortable for you and your dog!
You will want to have shampoo and conditioner available for your puppy right away. Like babies and toddlers-----puppies are GREAT at finding messes, even when you wouldn't think there was one to be found! :) Look for one with ingredients where you can pronounce the names on the list. You don't want anything too harsh or drying on that soft puppy hair and skin! Something with oatmeal is great for the skin as well. We recommend following up with a conditioner as it does help the coat stay smooth and manageable for longer. The NuVet company we work with for vitamins has a couple of great options you can have shipped with your pup's wafers.
In time, you will also need to purchase nail trimmers for your puppy----and will probably want to have Styptic Powder on hand in case you trim too closely as you learn. If you haven't trimmed a dogs nails before, we recommend taking your new trimmers with you to the vet where they should be happy to show you how! Again, this is something that can be purchased very reasonably at a pet supply store or from an online retailer like Amazon. In fact, I believe the pair we currently have was less than $7 shipped to our house! Again, I wouldn't advise anything too pricey, especially at first. You will learn what you like, and don't like, and can invest in something more quality in the future if you choose.
You will also need to decide in time if you are going to take your puppy to a groomer, or groom at home yourself, and either find a groomer you trust or purchase the necessary supplies. Although Cockapoos do not require heavy grooming, it is helpful to begin exposing puppy at a young age so that they can get used to it and be a more enjoyable experience.....for them and the one doing the grooming! :)

VITAMINS: We very highly recommend supplementing your puppy with a simple, once daily vitamin. Many on the market are either very expensive or do not have ingredients that your dog can actually absorb. The brand we recommend is NuVet. NuVet Plus K-9 Wafers have an ingredients list of: Blue Green Algae, Brewer’s Yeast, Cat’s Claw, Evening Primrose Oil, Shark Cartilage, Oyster Shell, Alpha Amylase, Beta Carotene, Pine Bark, Papain, L Methionine, Alfalfa, Chicken Liver, Vitamin B1 (Thiamin), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Amino Acids (Tryptophan, Threonine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Cystine, Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, Valine, Arginine, Histidine, Alanine, Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid, Glycine).
Every dog on our farm gets a wafer daily, and your puppy will be on it from birth through his mothers milk. Then, when he is old enough, through taking 1/2 of a tablet daily himself. Even though we use a quality food, the difference we see when our dogs are on NuVet is amazing! We especially recommend making sure your puppy stays on his vitamin during transition to your home as it is a time of such change and stress. They have just weaned, meaning they are having to really use their own immune system now instead of what is provided to them in Mom's milk, and they are going to leave their littermates and travel to a new environment with new people and new germs. In this time, they also begin receiving their vaccines you select, which are an extra tax to the system. All of this adds up to really stress an already immature immune system!
We believe so strongly in using this supplement, that we recommend NuVet wafers are stocked in the home of every puppy we send home. NuVet is only available through certain breeders and pet professionals, and you will need an order code first time you purchase. Purchase can be made at www.nuvet.com/52720, or by calling 800-474-7044 and using order code 52720. We recommend looking into their AutoShip option as it does save 15%! We highly recommend having a bottle at home ready for your puppy when they come home!

step 3: what comes with your puppy

When you receive your puppy, this is what will be with them.

if you pick your puppy up in person

If you drive to meet us in order to pick up your puppy, or fly in to take your puppy home with you on the plane, this is what we will meet you with:

  • Blanket that smells like Mom and littermates for comfort
  • Food sample if you cannot purchase a large bag from us, and your large bag if you do
  • Vitamin sample to make sure your puppy doesn't lapse on vitamins while your order comes in (although we recommend you ordering well in advance here as this is a time of immune stress for puppy: www.nuvet.com/52720 )
  • First collar and leash (although we want to stress that you be careful not to let your puppy down where other dogs have been until after your first vet visit)
  • 1st puppy shots
  • Preventative de-wormings
  • Health check from our veterinarian
  • Your puppy's health record
  • Your puppy's pedigree papers
  • Registration with the American Cockapoo Club
  • A receipt for the purchase of your puppy

if we fly your puppy to you

If we fly your puppy to you (only available when weather allows and if picking up your puppy in person is not an option---flying puppy cargo is an option, but we would really prefer that you consider other options first):

  • Food sample
  • First collar
  • Vitamin sample to make sure your puppy doesn't lapse on vitamins while your order comes in (although we recommend you ordering well in advance here as this is a time of immune stress for puppy: www.nuvet.com/52720 )
  • 1st puppy shots
  • Preventative de-wormings
  • Health check from our veterinarian
  • Your puppy's health record (mail)
  • Your puppy's pedigree papers (mail)
  • Registration with the American Cockapoo Club (mail)
  • Airline approved carrier
  • Health certificate

step 4: final purchase and pick-up

It's time to bring puppy home!!!!

We keep puppies with mom and their littermates for 8 weeks. We do not send puppies home early. We ask everyone to plan for pickup the weekend (Friday through Sunday) of or following their 8 week birthday. These dates will be made clear as soon as puppies are born so that you have 8 weeks planning time to figure things out :) If puppies must remain here past that time, this can be worked out if we are available, but there is a daily boarding fee from the Monday after they are 8 weeks old until they are picked up. This fee will be added, in cash, to your balance at pick-up. We REALLY want your puppy to be with you at the 8 week mark as it is such an important time for bonding. We feel that this gives you and puppy the best possible start to your life together!
Puppies go home one of three ways, we plan to meet up in person to send puppy with you, we meet you at the airport for you to fly home with puppy in cabin, or we ship puppy to you. If puppy needs to fly, we do prefer that a member of your family flies in and meets us and takes the puppy home as carry on. We can fly puppies in cargo, but we are limited by timing and temperatures. Since it is an option with the 8 week size of the Cockapoos, we do prefer that you fly to get your puppy. Flying puppies cargo is doable....but is our least preferred method of travel.
If you fly in to pick up puppy, the arrangements will be up to you, and the only extra cost to us will be a traveling fee to the airport (2 hours from our home). We will meet you at the airport with puppy. If you prefer to rent a car to come meet us, there is no extra fee owed to us. In this case, you can pay the balance on the puppy and your fee ahead of time, or in cash when we meet.
If we fly puppy to you, we will take care of all the arrangements, vet visits, carrier, and taking puppy to airport for our shipping fee. This fee changes depending upon airline pricing, so contact us if you are interested in finding out the costs to ship. In this scenario, the balance of the puppy and all shipping costs must be paid (and have time to clear, if applicable) prior to our shipping puppy.
If you pick puppy up, we will plan a location to meet, and puppy will ride home with you! You may pay the balance ahead of time, or pay in cash when you pick puppy up.
Regardless of how you arrange to receive puppy, keep in mind that any money paid through PayPal will be subject to a 3.5% fee. We cover this on the deposit, but if you choose PayPal instead of sending money order or bringing cash, the fee will be your responsibility.
